Lake Denton Oddities

No leads here but between the Voice from the Lake legend and the handful of cases each year with people passing out on the shore for no reason, there's something weird about the lake.

Notes

- Voice from the Lake: As the legend goes in 1929, Mayor Cole Brennan, while walking along the shores of Lake Denton, heard a voice coming from the Lake. When he went closer, he felt paralyzed by this voice and fell into the lake. When he came out after barely avoiding drowning, he was a changed man, being much more secluded, serious and driven, particularly in relation to the festivities for the 1929 Harvest Festival. According to the story, he spoke to a demon while in the Lake and was given one of its scales as an eternal reminder of their conversation.

- This was all hearsay and can't be confirmed.

- It's mostly just to scare kids away from the lake so that they don't fall in and drown. Sadly it happens once every few years. There's dozens of reports about it.

- There have been sightings of strange plants or fish or something of that sort in the Lake, described as a large mass.

- When the Harvest Star appears, it is said to hover over the Lake. Not sure how that factors in.

- Shadowy figure shown in the lake on the Media Archive??

- Oliver Deercot is said to live near the Lake, but only in the Fall. Another myth that probably means nothing.

- The Observatory has funded research into the Lake. What is in there that a space-studying organization (though one admittedly one studying aliens) needs to find? I heard that this was some sort of passion project from Dr. Ilman too. I don't get it.

- This isn't exactly a case, but the strange phenomenon and legends surrounding the Lake means it should be watched.
